PROBLEM
With the release of iOS/iPadOS 15 Apple introduced "iCloud Private Relay" to enhance user privacy.
This can affect the Ethernet connection of iPads connected to a LAN via a wired Ethernet adapter, such as the one found in VisualTarget enclosures.
Looking at the Ethernet settings on the iPad would either show no IP address registered or an incorrect IP Address / Subnet Mask.
SOLUTION
A simple way to resolve the issue is to disable iCloud Private Relay found under Settings -> Ethernet.
Note that the iPad may not successfully reconnect to the network until its DHCP lease is renewed automatically. You can alternatively renew the lease manually or switch the iPad to a different VLAN/network.
